Sikkilsdalseter Fjellstue is originally an old farm belonging to Graupe and Grosberg in Tverrbygda. It was bought by Lord Bamford in about 1868, and later sold to the state in 1881 as a horse breeding farm. The first horse slip was in 1868. The Sande family has operated the farm since 1868, first as a year-round farm combined with tourism. After 1961, the place has been operated only as a tourist resort. The host today is Tor Varpestuen. He is the fifth generation operator.
